1. Road closed
Road closed means that a road or section of road is temporarily or permanently unavailable to some or all traffic. A closure may be necessary because of roadworks, an accident, flooding, an event, structural damage or another situation that makes continued access unsafe or undesirable.
Drivers approaching a closed road should obey the closure signs and barriers and follow any indicated diversion. Exceptions may apply to authorised vehicles, emergency services, residents or local traffic where specifically indicated.

Can you drive past a road-closed sign?
Obey the closure unless a lawful exception applies to you. A local-traffic exception may allow access only as far as the actual closure, rather than passage through it. Follow the signs, barriers and authorised directions at the location.
