1. Playground

A playground is an outdoor or indoor area designed for children to play, usually equipped with facilities such as swings, slides, climbing structures or open play spaces. Playgrounds may be located in parks, residential areas, schools, recreation centres or other public places.

Drivers travelling near a playground should watch carefully for children who may enter or cross the road unexpectedly and adjust their speed to the surrounding conditions.

How should drivers behave near a playground?

Drivers should reduce speed when necessary, watch carefully for children and be prepared to stop if a child enters or approaches the roadway.
