HorsecartSouth Africa
1. Horsecart
A horsecart, or horse-drawn vehicle, is a wheeled vehicle pulled by one or more horses and controlled by a driver. Horsecarts may be used for transport, agriculture, tourism, recreation or ceremonial purposes.
Because horses can react unexpectedly to traffic, noise or sudden movements, other road users should reduce speed, leave sufficient space and avoid actions that could frighten the animals.
How should drivers behave around a horsecart?
Drivers should slow down, leave sufficient space and pass calmly, avoiding unnecessary noise or sudden movements that could frighten the horses.
