Radar speed signWallonia
39. Radar speed sign
A radar speed sign warns drivers that vehicle speeds may be monitored by a fixed camera, mobile radar, lidar or average-speed enforcement system. It reminds drivers to check and respect the applicable speed limit.
The sign does not normally establish the speed limit itself. Drivers must follow the general, posted or variable speed limit applying to the road and must not brake suddenly merely because speed enforcement is indicated.

Is there an official national radar traffic sign in Belgium?
No. The Belgian Highway Code does not currently include a numbered national traffic sign specifically indicating speed radar enforcement.
Does Wallonia use a radar warning sign?
Yes. Wallonia’s official signing guidance includes a blue radar information board among signs used in Wallonia but not listed as numbered signs in the current Belgian Road Code. It warns of enforcement and does not set the speed limit. This is a documented regional example; do not assume that every Belgian region uses an identical board.
Does the Walloon radar board impose a speed limit?
No. It announces speed enforcement but does not establish a numerical limit. Drivers must follow the applicable C43 sign, speed zone or general speed limit.
How is lidar at Walloon roadworks announced?
Wallonia’s official guidance includes an orange RADAR CHANTIER board with a radar symbol to announce lidar enforcement at a worksite. This is a Walloon signing arrangement, rather than one verified uniform announcement rule for every Belgian region. Obey the applicable speed restriction whether or not a camera is announced.
Does passing the radar end a Belgian speed restriction?
No. A speed limit ends only according to the applicable signs and road rules, not because the camera has been passed.
