56. Equestrian trail

An equestrian trail is a designated route intended primarily for horse riders. It may follow forest paths, rural tracks, bridleways or other routes where horseback riding is permitted or encouraged.

Equestrian trails may be identified by horse-rider symbols, direction markers or route signs. Other road users using or crossing the trail should take particular care around horses and avoid actions that could frighten them.
