36. Parking disc
A parking disc is a device used to indicate the time a vehicle was parked in an area where parking duration is limited. The driver sets the disc to the required arrival time and displays it clearly inside the vehicle.
Parking-disc systems are commonly used in blue zones or other time-limited parking areas. The permitted parking duration, operating hours and method for setting the disc depend on national or local rules and the traffic signs in place.

Must the parking start time always be shown with a plastic disc in Finland?
No. Finland requires the start time to be indicated visibly where sign H19 applies; a conventional disc is not the only acceptable way to communicate the time.

How may the arrival time be rounded in Finland?
You may show the actual arrival time or round it to the next full or half-hour, whichever occurs first. You must not change the recorded start time during the same parking event.
