A caravan is a towable trailer designed to provide temporary living accommodation while travelling or camping. It commonly contains sleeping space and may also include cooking, seating, storage, washing or toilet facilities.

When towing a caravan, drivers should make sure it is correctly coupled, safely loaded and within the permitted towing and weight limits. A caravan changes the vehicle combination's length, weight, handling and stopping distance.
