72. End of restriction
End of restriction means the end of one or more local traffic restrictions that applied to vehicles on the preceding section of road. It may be indicated by a specific end-of-restriction sign, by the crossed-out version of an earlier restriction sign or by another sign that establishes a new rule.
After a de-restriction sign, drivers must follow the normal traffic rules and any new restrictions that apply. It does not mean that there are no speed limits or traffic rules beyond the sign.

What does French sign B31 mean?
B31 marks the end of all previously signed prohibitions applicable to moving vehicles. It should not be read as permission to ignore normal speed limits or unrelated traffic restrictions.

How is the end of only a French speed restriction shown?
The B33 sign ends a previously indicated maximum-speed restriction; B31 has a broader end-of-prohibitions meaning. After either sign, obey the speed limit that applies to the road and circumstances.
